Position: Business Development Associate

Job Summary: This opening is for a Business Development Associate that will be responsible for developing new customer relationships
and opportunities through a variety of prospecting/sales/marketing methods as well as supporting existing customer accounts to generate recurring
business. This position is accountable for the promotion and sale of the company’s broad range of products under the direction of the Senior Vice-President.
Frequent travel and overnight stays may be required.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of sales experience/business development is required.
- Proven track record in sales, marketing, and business development is required.
- 4-year college degree in Business, Marketing or related field is required.
- Experience in account planning and territory management is required.
Responsibilities:
- Identify new customers proactively with projects that fit the company’s business model via cold calling, prospecting, email campaigns,
and other appropriate sales/marketing methods.
- Work directly with prospects to identify, close, and support sales.
- Work indirectly through channel members to identify, close, and support sales.
- Create new ways to market services and contact potential clients.
- Assist in the development of new market opportunities, solutions, and services.
- Qualify prospective clients based on company guidelines through researching potential clients.
- Develop new methods to identify cross sell opportunities to existing customers.
- Weekly sales calls providing services that include needs assessment, product demonstrations, and proposal presentation.
- Provide technical training, and technical assistance as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of data collection systems including fixed and mobile terminals, bar codes, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and
other sensor based technologies.
- Working knowledge of customers, competitors, industry trends, and market factors that impact business in the marketing segments
that the company is selling to.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Outlook, Excel, Word, and other Windows products.
- Comfortable initiating relationships and interacting with senior level executives in both formal and informal settings.
- Ability to set clear priorities and work in a collaborative setting.
- Must be highly goal-driven, strategic, and disciplined.
- Proven ability to initiate, build, and sustain productive customer relationships resulting in delivering quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently as required.
