WIPTrax

WIPTrax: Tracking Work in Process
Purpose

Tracking work-in-process inventory on the plant floor has always been complicated and problematic. Sensor-based technology can now track work-in-process inventory to degrees of accuracy previously unattainable. Using RFID, items can be interrogated from a distance, out of line of sight, and without operator interaction.

WIPTrax, based on TraxWare, runs as a service on high-availability servers or edge controllers to track inventory as it traverses the entire manufacturing process. WIPTrax aggregates all functions needed to create and associate tags, define inventory events, interface with its own database schema, or legacy databases, ERP, and MRP applications, and provide reporting via web-based, on-demand reports.
